We’ll Help You Identify & Navigate Harmful Scams

Our Story
Senior Cyber Alert began with a lesson our founder, Mike Dantonio Jr., learned much earlier than he expected.
When Mike was about 11 years old, he went online without his parents’ permission, believing he was purchasing an item from a legitimate website. Unfortunately, the website wasn’t what it appeared to be. It was a scam designed to deceive him, and Mike lost hundreds of dollars.
When he finally told his parents what had happened, they used the experience as an opportunity to teach him. They talked with him about the dangers of online scams and encouraged him to research fraud, deceptive websites, phishing attempts, and the warning signs that can help people recognize when something online isn’t right.
Mike took those lessons seriously.
As he learned more, he began sharing what he knew with others and warning them about things they should watch for online. During that time, something his parents told him stayed with him: older adults are often targeted by scammers and can suffer devastating financial losses when they become victims.
That became especially meaningful to Mike because seniors were already an important part of his life.
Through his community service, Mike regularly helps deliver food and essential supplies to seniors at local senior communities and residential facilities. Week after week, those experiences have allowed him to build relationships with older adults, listen to them, serve them, and earn their trust. Over time, what began as volunteering became something much more personal—he genuinely grew to care about the seniors he served.
So when Mike realized how frequently scammers target older adults, he saw another way he could help.
The experience that once made him a victim could now become something he used to help protect someone else.
That idea became Senior Cyber Alert.
Today, Mike’s goal is simple: help seniors feel safer and more confident when using their phones, email, computers, and the internet. Whether it’s a suspicious text, an unexpected phone call, a questionable email, or a website that just doesn’t seem right, Senior Cyber Alert gives seniors somewhere to turn before they act.
Because for Mike, Senior Cyber Alert isn’t only about stopping scams.
It’s another way to serve a community he’s already grown to care about.
